The Magic of Maine

Boothbay Harbor, Ogunquit, and Portland

From mouth-watering lobsters to scenic cruises and majestic sunsets, you will experience the real "down east" way of life in Maine. Your vacation begins in Freeport, a beautiful coastal Maine village rich with history and credited with being "the birthplace of Maine" and the home of L.L. Bean Outlet. We'll stay at the Harraseeket Inn, a luxury 4-Diamond hotel.

We'll see breathtaking coastal views as we travel north up the Maine coast to Boothbay Harbor. Strolling the quaint downtown area of Boothbay Harbor is a feast for the senses. While your eyes behold all the fishing boats and yachts in the harbor, your nose finds luscious aromas of fresh cooked lobster, steamed clams and chowders emanating from harbor restaurants. You'll stay at the Boothbay Harbor Inn overlooking the quietly busy harbor.

As we travel back south along the coast, there's a glorious little corner of Maine where lobstermen still command the sea, where shop owners greet their visitors like long-lost friends and where the time-warp charm of New England's old-world fishing villages takes us back to simpler times in the magical seaside villages of Ogunquit and Kennebunkport. We'll have a guided tour of Kennebunkport where you'll see the summer home of former President Bush. In nearby Ogunquit you can walk along the famed Marginal Way where the sight of the waves crashing into the rocks will take your breath away. You'll get a real taste of Maine life when you take a short cruise aboard a lobster boat in Perkins Cove. The cruise combines the scenic beauty of Ogunquit's shoreline with a first-hand lobstering experience. Your guide will provide a detailed explanation of the lobster fishery along the way.

In Portland you'll explore the historic waterfront district with its cobblestone streets and beautiful Victorian brick buildings. You'll also visit the most photographed lighthouse in America, Portland Head Light.
