The Belle of the South

Warm up with southern hospitality and old-world charm of Savannah & Charleston. Say 'bye to winter with the Jewels of the South & The Golden Isles on this southern sojourn!

Day 1 - Baltimore to Roanoke Rapids (D) - The festivities begin with an afternoon at Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Arriving in Roanoke, NC, enjoy a hearty dinner at Cracker Barrel. Finish the day with a restful night at The Hampton Inn.

Day 2 - Oh Savannah! (B, D) - On arrival in Savannah, check into the Staybridge Suites, in the heart of downtown. Dinner at The Pirate's House Restaurant.

Day 3 - Belle of the South (B) - Get to know the Low Country on a driving tour featuring the Beach at Tybee, Fort Pulaski, and Tybee Lighthouse. See antebellum homes, massive churches and town squares giving the city its other name: "The Belle of the South." The rest of the day is yours to relax and explore.

Day 4 - The Golden Isles (B, D) - Spend the day on the "Golden Isles of Georgia!" Begin with St. Simon Island's quaint town of Pier Village. Then, it's a narrated tram tour of Jekyll Island, a gilded era retreat! Your oasis for the next two nights is the ocean front Holiday Inn Resorts. On a pristine beach, the hotel features a pool and deck overlooking the Atlantic. Tonight, savor a Low Country Boil on the Beach House Patio.

Day 5 - Beach Day! (B) - Wake up with the ocean spray, the day is yours! Relax at the hotel or discover your own adventure.

Day 6 - Tea and Plantation! (B, L, D) - Charleston bound! Go behind the scenes at America's only working tea plantation. Enjoy a trolley ride, factory tour and tea tasting with a world renowned tea taster! Tonight, board The Spirit of Carolina for an elegant dinner cruise with live entertainment! Turn in at the Holiday Inn Riverview Hotel, your home for the next two nights.

Day 7 - Charming Charleston (B) - Roll through 300 years of history on a Colonial horse-drawn carriage tour of Charleston. Explore City Market for lunch on your own, then the rest of the day and evening is yours to sightsee or relax.

Day 8 - Northern Bound (B, D) - Begin our journey home with a farewell dinner. Overnight at The Hampton Inn Roanoke.

Day 9 - Home By Way of DC (B) - On the way home, enjoy a stop in Washington, DC's new Capitol Riverfront.
