Our day in Essex begins with a delicious brunch at the historic Griswold Inn in Essex. Then you'll enjoy the beauty and charm of the Connecticut River Valley. Let the train's clickety-clack take you back to the 1920's as you ride through the scenic countryside in restored vintage cars aboard the Essex Steam Train. A narration highlights the history, folklore, flora and fauna of the sights along the way. At Deep River Landing, the train meets the riverboat for a one-hour cruise. Relax, enjoy some refreshments and see spectacular vistas of great natural beauty, as well as a river's eye view of Gillette Castle and Goodspeed Opera House.
