City Island in...the Bronx??

One of New York's best-kept secrets is City Island! Filled with history, this lovely seaside community is rich in nautical tradition and reminiscent of a New England fishing village, only it's in the BRONX! Your local guide will help you explore the rich history of this lovely seaside community, best known for its seafood restaurants, marinas, yacht clubs and antique shops and connected to the Bronx by a short bridge. Our tour starts at the Bartow-Pell Mansion, a NYC landmark on City Island. It is said to be one of the most beautifully located historic houses in the City, yet it appears to be in the Country exemplifying country living in the early 19th century. You'll enjoy a delicious lobster lunch at The Lobster House (if you don't want lobster, you will have a choice of chicken, beef, or fish), a City Island favorite for almost 50 years. After lunch, we'll tour City Island and its beautiful surroundings.
